Default Broken exhaust bolts

Just got a very good deal on a set of 243 heads off of a truck. the bolts are broken off in the 2 end exhaust holes on both heads (total of 4). What's the best way to deal with this, Helicoil? Or can they be drilled out and removed? The guy gave me the valley cover (along with rockers, stands, and pushrods). Noticed it has the PCV setup like the LS6 cover but no spots for knock sensors. Is this usable?

If you are going to have a machine shop resurface the heads, or do any other work, I would have them fix it. If the bolts are still in the threads, the threads may be okay - it is just a matter of using a bolt extractor to remove the old bolts.

I have a set of 317 heads that had 2 exhaust bolts broken off. One was sticking out far enough to get some channel-locks on it and back it out. The other one, I drilled and used an E-Z Out.

Since the heads are off, take them to a shop, they will do it right. Having a basic understanding of machining I would not attempt to do it myself and screw it up worse then it is.
