Default My new changes for this year!

Hi guys,

Just wanted to give you an update on my upcoming new combo.

I sold my heads and cam and am going with the following:

ARE's new 4.8/5.3 CNC heads 2.05/1.57 valves, comp 921 dual spring, tit retainers etc etc
(I'll post flow numbers when the heads get back from being CNC'd and flowed on ARE's bench)

Comp will be ~10.8:1

BIGASS T-rex cam: 242/248 110 LSA +2
FAST intake (For testing)
Most likely new longtube headers (Probably 1 3/4- 17/8th stepped with merge collectors)
3 inch Ypipe with dual 3 inch cutouts
30# SVO injectors* If necessary
Possibly inline pump* If necessary

Full dyno tuning with LS1 edit

Looking to make 470-485 RWHP. No dyno tricks, stock waterpump etc etc.

Also checking into a couple of other things as well (new R&D stuff)

Car should go into ARE by mid-march and take about a week to try out the different combos.

I am going to document (pics and video) the entire process and post it on my site when done.
There will be some chassis and suspension changes as well.

I'll keep you all posted...The car should be quite insane when everything is complete

Cheers,
Chris

Good luck with your setup, Although realistically I'd say around 450rwhp with that low of a compression and ARE's so so heads.

LOL

Have you flowed there new CNC 4.8/5.3 heads? How do you know they are so so?

My current combo runs pretty well for a "so so" head and that isn't even a full stage 2

Rich's A4 car is running 10.7@126mph with this new head design and a much smaller cam at ~3350 raceweight and 346 cubes.

Anyways, I'll post the results as the work gets completed.

Are u aloud to pimp a NON SPONSORS product on Tech?
I got a private messege from the mods to NOT put 'AtoZ Performance' under my name

Sounds REAL good Frosty,You'll be up around 480RW with that setup for sure...
My measly little 430RW is old hat

?X? Performance

I am not pimping their product!!!

I am just telling people my new combo.

I thought people would be interested to see how that big *** cam and FAST intake would work on my car with high flowing heads. I am just excited thats all

ps - 470-480 RWHP would be great. I am curious to see how everything works

I believe Rich was 3250 when he went 10.7 FWIW.

And I would would ported LS6 heads if you are going for max numbers the only advantage of 4.8/5.3's is the small combustion chamber, the most that those heads will typically flow is 290-300/220-225 AND I would go with more compression because with that overlap you are losing a lot of compression since that's probably like 7 degrees of overlap at .050. Just my 2 cents sounds like a fun hardcore project!

So So heads? Yeah they're ok.
BTW what heads are you running? Maybe my times would improve huh?
PSJ: Close but I've never been under 3300lbs
and Chris, remember before you take advise from PSJ look up his times with his combo's.

Rich, I went 11.02 at 3600 raceweight with my ARE 422ci because the reluctor wheel was loose on custom offset ground crankshaft (4.075 with a 4.000 crank) and the car would only once in a great while make a full quarter mile pass without shutting off. Wade said it was making contact with something but that was not true it was not re-installed properly when it was offset ground there now you have all the facts AGAIN.

I dont know. If they are the 5.3L CNC'd Stage 2's then yes

I'll talk to Nick, I dont mind running up to 11.2:1 compression but I doubt I'll see a whole lot more power from it.
