Eagle vs Callies Compstar
Really considering a 408 stroker and at most a 150 shot of nitrous.
I am looking at 2 different kits:
TSP kit comes w/ 4340 Eagle crank, H-beam rods, and Wiseco pistons balanced for $2251 shipped
AES Kit comes w/ 4340 Compstar crank, H-Beam rods, and CP pistons balanced for $2299 shipped
Does $800 sound good for machining?
CNC Bore $200
Torque Plate hone $200
Align Hone $200
Deck $200
Should I upgrade to ARP studs or stick to stock bolts on the mains?(6800-7000 rpm redline)

Be sure you check out our options and make this an apples to apples comparison! If you equip ours with Callies Compstar crank and rods, and throw the Wiseco pistons, bearings, and balance on there our kit is $2289.99.
I'd take the Compstar over the Eagle on the basis of quality and reliability any day of the week. The Compstar will be ready to go without needing the journals turned down to make them round and you never hear about the Callies leaking from that rear oil plug in the crank.
Let me know if I can help

I didn't even think to see what the price was for Callies upgrades. Both vendors are about the same price but I do like the Wiseco piston option better. TSP, I will give you a call, hopefully I can pick up a kit from you in Dec when I go home on leave.

Old thread but, I believe the CP pistons you question are made by Carrillo. They make top quality parts and have since 68 I think. "Hank the crank" used Carrillo to make his parts
