Default should have more horsepower?

2002 ws6 6 speed. Mods:slp lid, k&n filter, ported throttle body, ls6 intake, kooks 1 7/8" long tubes, off road y pipe, borla exhaust, powerbond u/d pulley, comp cam 231/234 .644 lift, stock heads but new springs and retainers, and HP Tune... dyno said 409 to rear wheel. That sounds low. Any thoughts.

Well the heads are holding the cam back, but yes it sounds low.

Sounds about right to me if it's through the muffler...
A lot of cam only cars don't even crack 400

Yea. It was tuned by GForce in Pearland Texas. Could the tune be the problem?

I have ordered age 215 heads and a fast 102 intake and throttle body. What should I be after those are installed?

For my it sound good for a cam only motor . Now if you port or upgrade the heads it going to be another story.

Dyno numbers really don't mean much; timeslips tell the real story. Stop with the barrels-in-the-floor foolishness and run that bad boy on the strip. My car put down 296 rwhp on a chassis dyno (typical bone stock LS1 numbers) but it ran the time in my sig without any non-power-enhancing mods that would help the ET, so it's obviously stronger than stock. That dyno sheet means poop.

+20-40 more

You don't have a problem.
You have 100 horse over stock with just a pulley, cam and headers.

Damn I thought I would be close to 500. What else can I do besides gas. Rear end 4.10 but then I'm stuck.

Go to the track, it tells the truth. See what it runs and go from there.

I said close to 500 between the heads and intake and tune I thought it would add around 60 HP

I agree with Steve Gunn...409 sounds good to me for a cam only car. Heads and intake should give you about 50 more rwhp.

You keep saying 500hp. The motor makes it now. Don't get Fly Wheel hp and Rear Wheel hp mixed up. You just loose it spinning those tires. If you want to make 500rwhp with stock cubes, it's gonna take the right combo and a perfect tune. No way should you expect that with cam and bolt ons.

Slip the dyno operator a 20. Dyno sheets are like the Bible; they can be manipulated and interpreted any way you want.
Again, you're gettting really hung up on dyno numbers vs performance. Performance is the reason we mod our cars. What is it doing in the 1/4 mile?
