My ls1 with a g5x3 and a afr 205 head made 458hp on a stang dyno. I then went to the x4 cam and got 463hp. my car ran 11.1 n/a. With a 215 head and the proper combo, you could see 480hp easy.

Would you need to fly cut with those heads?

No, but depending on how much they are milled, then maybe. Anyone know the max the TFS 215 heads can be milled and have the G5x3 cam clear?

You'll be ok at 59cc with GM MLS gaskets.

I'm not sure @ 59cc that will properly clear. You need to check no doubt. The TFS head starts out a good bit larger than 59cc so that will be a healthy chunk of milling.

That's exactly why we built a smaller chamber for the PRC 215 heads. We wanted to get customers a small chamber & maintain stock p/v clearances.

A cam with a 232 intake? Yes it will clear fine at 59cc. Ask a few reputable shops. Especially on a 114 lobe sep.

G5X3 is a 234/242 .6XX/.6XX 112 or 114LSA... 59cc heads might require flycutting, it's always good to measure just to be sure. I wouldn't chance it.

You are right. My mistake. I was thinking X2. Nope a 234 intake will clear easy on a 114 with TFS 215's. 112 might need checking though. I've talked to big shop owners that have said they have done dozens of combos with TFS 59cc heads and G5x3 or similar grinds and never heard of a piston kissing the valve. 234 on the intake is usually max for a 59cc TFS head from what I've been told. You are never guaranteed but when I'm told certain facts Im happy with the relative high percentage of safety I've been told I should have. Im doing a similar combo right now.

you guys are nuts if you don't measure...

stock heads with stock gaskets and a 230/230 on 111+2 I only had .086 on the intake...

for what it's worth I am at 57.5cc with .040 cometic and 239/243 on 111+2 now with tfs 215s and I had -.020...that's right after I flycutted .110 I now have low .09x clearance

Quick Reply: g5x3 with tfs 215cc?
