Default 11 Second Potential Recipe for DD

I recently rebuilt my ls1 in my 98 Z28 with stock components, I am wondering how the mods I have selected to purchase are sounding to you guys.

I will have...
stock gears with yank ss3200 or 3600 stall
pacesetter longtubes
y-pipe with dumped super 10 flowmaster or borla xr-1
ls6 intake
tune
dr's
I need help with the cam selection but I do not want to fly cut the pistons and want a sorta choppy idle (112 lsa)
I have researched some of Texas Speed's products like the 224r, 228r, 224 from thunder racing, and the torquer v2...

I will be using a 100-125 shot too..

Any suggestions? Thanks

pick up some 241 heads. you should be able to find them dirt cheap. and i would run a cat back with an electric cut out. doing the exhaust like you said is just ghetto. but a torquer 2 with longtubes a ls6 manifold and a 125 shot like you want should get you deep in the 11s for sure.

Nice list. Dont go any lower than a 3600 stall.

From everything I've read going from the 806 heads you've got to the 241 isn't going to really gain you anything. You can get your 806's ported for pretty cheap for some gains.

241s over 806/853 stock heads is very minimal. not worth a swap. the 5 cfm gain on stock 243s is also small. cams and nitrous have powered many into 9s an 10s. u will easily go 11s. tv2 cam nitrous an (suspension)<a key to times is hooking. cam stall spray an hooking and u will easily reach your goals

If your stock gears are the 2.74's, you might have a problem. 3.23's would be your minimum. 3.73's would be better.

Go with the 3600 stall and the 228r cam. Awesome proven cam that will give you the chop you want at idle, but not be a bear to tune or drive on. And the spray will really wake it up too. Hell even better would be a 224/228 since N20 does like an exhaust split in duration, but it really won't matter if its a single pattern at the power level you'll be making.

I like the sound of a nice dumped exhaust. It may be "ghetto" to you but everyone has a different preference but I do appreciate your input.

I didn't want to change the gears because I drive the car on the highway often...

Thanks everyone I think I will keep the stock heads for now, go with the ls6 intake, 228r cam, 10 series flowmaster or xr-1 from borla (borla sounds incredible on the vette but not sure if it will be quite the same on my car) 3600 stall...

I appreciate it guys
