Question 5.3 build (In a bit of a pickle, dick)

I have a bare iron 5.3 block chilling in my garage. My original plan was to bore it to a 5.7 and pick up a set of forged pistons/rods to build for BOOST. Now that I have spent countless days thinking about these plans, I was wondering if maybe, just maybe I should just bore it to a 5.7 and pick up a set of low mileage or new factory ls1 pistons/rods and run ARP rod bolts and just boost it like that? Could I still hit a goal of around 600hp with stock piston/rod setup? Any disadvantages of using the iron instead of the stock aluminum block if I do this? NEED HELP PLEASE!! It's tearing up my nerves

The only disadvantage of using the iron block is the weight. I think alot of us have been at the crossroads of trying to figure out our combinations. I would just put the forged pistons and rods in it so I would have a piece of mind. I think you could reach the 600hp goal with the stock setup but you would have no room for error in the tune.

Just forge the motor while its already out. I was planning on running a tc78 on all stock internals. You'd probably be good right around 7-8 psi, but that's all you'll be limited to if you want the motor to last at all.

First of all the iron blocks are stronger than the aluminum . Yes the stock bottom end can handle those kinds of hp #'s but how long will it last ? Spend $800 on forged pistons/rods and not have to worry about it lasting . Good luck
