Question Looking for a parts list with part #s for Cam install on Stock LS1 plz !!

I tried googling but can't seem to find any posts with part #s and parts required for a Cam swap.

Looking to install a cam into my 02 SS. Will be re-using the Crane gold 1.82 rrs and new comp 918s I just put in. What are the exact parts list I need to gather up for the install? gaskets, bolts n such?

The best thing to do is call a sponsor (Jon @ Texas Speed or Ron @ Vengeance Racing) and get a complete package with all the gaskets and parts that you will need. It will cost less by getting a complete package. Those high ratio rockers that you have are not really the way to go when you go to a more agressive cam lobes that you will find on all your aftermarket cam grinds. They are designed to boost your performance with a stock cam which have a very mild profile.

I jus' ordered my parts from Scoggin Dickey as they have the cheapest prices around. I'm not sure if you are changing heads, lifters and the timing chain but I'll post them up anyways:

Head Gasket Set: 12498544 - $28.95
Head Bolts: 12498545 x 2 - $22.95
LS7 Lifters: 12499225 - $121.95
LS2 Lifter Tray: 12595365 x 4 - $8.90
Crank Pulley Bolt: 12557840 - $4.95
LS2 Timing Chain:12586482 - $35.99

For the other gaskets, I'm picking Fel-Pro from Advance Auto:

Gasket set: TCS45993 - 35.99
Comes with:
Front Crankshaft Seal
Timing Cover Gasket
(2) Water Pump Gaskets

Valve Cover Gasket: VS50504R - 12.99

Intake Gaskets: MS92438 - 19.99

The cheepest parts are not always the best deal on parts. I run TEA heads that are milled down to 59 cc chambers and a .040 Cometic head gaskets for a nice tight quench and a compression ratio of 11.5 to 1. I used ARP head bolts which are reusable instead of the torque to yeild GM crap. I have had three different sets of heads on this engine same with the crank bolt it is an ARP bolt which is reuseable. Valve cover gaskets are like atomic waste they last forever. How do I know ... mine are 11 years old with 236,000 miles on them and they are still good and not leaking. Been off and on a couple of dozen times at least.

Good to know thanks. I doubt this car will ever see heads swapped again but then again I could be wrong. I was about to sell it last month since I have the other car almost complete as this is my dd/winter car but Im going to see if a cam can help me decide to keep it.

I may pick up a low mileage set of LS1 heads that I might learn to port on. Very lightly of course Gotta start somewhere !
