Default ls1 in 68 camaro

SO hello all, after reading for hours i decided to post to see if i can get closer to what I'm looking for.

SO as the topic said i have a 68 camaro.here is a little about car it had a 406(500-600hp) race TH350 trans, 10 bolt 3:73 gears, posi.

Now i bought a ls1 with 83k miles on it. i tore it down to freshen it up. i don't want any problem or leaks once it is in the car. i will be getting a t56 shortly

I'm looking to get a cam, 243 heads, nice intake and need some advise. i want to keep the lopey idle but get better than 8 mpg and have performance when challanged.

Thanks

Call up some of the sponsors and see what they suggest. What size rear tire are you gonna run? Staying with the 3.73? Weight? How often are you gonna drive the car? You gonna run long tube headers? We would probably need more info to give you a good recommendation.
