The first pic looks like a bolt. Were there sparks from this spot while you were grinding?

If yes then yes, you went too far.

No no sparks at all. Im not sure what u mean by it looks like a bolt. I put a few drops of water on the spot in question to see if it would produce air bubbles or leak and it didn't leak or produce air bubbles

Those are the rocker arm bolts. They are drilled very close to the runners.

Looks like rocker arm bolts, so no you didnt go to far, you can see the rocker bolts slightly in my port. Take the rocker bolts out and you should be able to finish cleaning that area up. The bolts just need sealer on the threads when you assemble the heads.

wow great info.

hitting a rocker bolt in the exhaust port, haha look into that and see what you think.

hitting anything with 80grit, is not likely you can still see the surface cast finish and the parting line, you have .200 of alum there still. You removed maybe .010. The spring pocket is over there BTW, thats it. what valve and bore are you running. Work on the throat.

well i am on a major budget but valves seats and guides are a very important factor so i am planning on spending some money,,, not alot though i plan on keeping the stock intake valves and im flirting with new exhaust valves, would slightly larger exhaust valve be a good idea. i will probably need new seats (im decent but no seasoned pro at porting). heads have 122K on them so guides might be necessary. any thoughts/suggestions?
