Its on the car already. The problem i have is that the harmonic balancer is bottoming out on the either the oil pump or this "shim" that fits inside the pump and around the crank snout.

the shim for the pump is for the spring which is under the allen bolt, as for any other shim your talking about i dont know....sounds like you might have installed oil pump or gear and chain wrong

We do not send any sort of shim with our ported oil pump. Its relief valve is already shimmed when you receive it.

Are you referring to spacers that were provided with an aftermarket timing set?

I think he is referring to the oil pump drive wheel. OP, what makes you think the balancer isnt going on far enough? Honestly, you aren't giving us much information except you know its not right but you don't know why its not right. See the issue?

x2 I took a used TSP pump apart to inspect it before I put it on my engine. I didn't see anything that would inhibit the balancer installation. Are you sure the balancer isn't pressed on all the way? I can't remember if the balancer sits flush with the crank but on alot of other engines it doesnt
