Default Its alive.. the engine in my 69 fires up!! (link)

Well after many months we fired up the LS1 transplant in my 1969 Camaro project.. Mike Morgan of E-tune worked his magic and did the basic "get it running" tune. This was a challenge since the VATS needed to be disabled along with a host of other things the car no longer needs in the PCM. (like smog, cats, etc )

I would also like to thank all the guys at Don Lee's for doing a first class job on the install.. the engine looks like it belongs in the car..

This is just a sound file (917k).. the video should be up later in the weekend. NOTE: turn your speakers up to 10 for the full effect Gotta love open headers..

http://www.z069.us/69/LS1_install/LS1_startup.wav

MMS stage II heads, ity bity 224 cam, ls6 intake, ARP rod and head bolts, ported TB, ASP pulley, yada yada..

4L60E trans with 3800 Yank converter, 3:73 gears, auburn posi, strange axels..

This will probley kill my bandwidth allocation for the month!

That was before Mike got the tune ironed out.. i think it was even before we got a hole drilled in the new billet TB..

Its gonna get some good quality "on the dyno" tune time when its back together

Beautiful car, and great attention to detail. I'm sure that one will win you a few awards.

Sweet. I really like the attention to detail in the paint of the intake / engine pieces and front subframe of the car-they all just look "right" together. Great website.

I'm really curoius how you can get sponsors to come aboard a project like that- since it doesn't appear to be a race car? Also, I dont recall seeing what headers you used- again just curious.

Very nice!! I've been waiting for you to post up some updates. I see you went with the A4, was the M6 too much fab work?? Or did you just end up wanting the A4?? That set up is gonna be just plain sick!!!!! Any idea on how much the car weighs??

very nice....just one question.

Why such a small cam on a car that doesn't have to deal with smog? I would have gone ***** out with a huge lopey one
