Head gasket thickness help please
I have a Gen III LQ4 6.0 with stock bore, compression and stroke and am putting on 243 heads (not milled) with Comp Cams 273/279 - 581/588 with 114° lobe sep. I want to go with a thinner head gasket to bump compression up and was wondering what head gasket would work and still have enough valve to piston clearance. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the heads are not milled, you can go with the Cometic .040" gasket without any problems with piston to valve clearance! That'll bump you up to about 10.5:1 static compression or so.

We can have Cometic cut them 4.00", but I do not have those on the shelf currently. Would just take about a week for them to make them and they'd ship directly to you. Same price and all.
Other than loosing about .01 of compression, there is no downside to running the slightly larger bore size.
