are 1 and 5 main bearing different than 2 and 4? The grooves in the bearing caps (extra tang) are different in 1 and 5 but the bearings are all same except for the thrust bearing. Is that right? Should there be specific 1 & 5 bearings? Federal Mogul race bearings. Something just doesnt seem right.

There is an extra tang groove in the 1 & 5 caps because they are basically the same part, but #5 is installed in the opposite direction. They are then stamped, and bored.
The bearings are all the same for the non-thrust caps, just install them all the same way using 2 & 4 as the quide.
