Default Oil Bypass Housing + Gauge install

I have a few questions about the Oil Bypass Housing located above the oil filter. I know a lot of people have drilled and tapped this fitting for an oil temp or pressure sender, but my question is can both be done. I just picked up some gauges and now I have to make them work. I was thinking of using the existing boss for the temp sensor and possibly trying to put a 90 degree -4AN fitting into the base of the housing and running -4AN hose up to a place on the firewall where I can easily place the Pressure sensor.

Here is a link to the part in question:

My Concerns:
Is the housing casting thick enough to tap for the pressure fitting?

Clearance from the header so that the wires don't melt or throw off the temp reading.

If I don't use the -4AN hose idea will the Pressure sender fit?

If I cannot tap two places where should I put either the temp or pressure sender that I was not able to locate?

Could this cause flow problems? I don't want to damage the engine in the process of trying to guarantee it lasts.

Lastly I placed this here due to the Flow question. I feel like that is a very important Internal Issue.

Here are my senders, Temp on the left, pressure is on the right, Dollar Bill for reference size.

Surprised there are no hits. Should I put this somewhere else?

I would say probably the best way would be to tee the 1 to 2 lines . Use either the pink or yellow teflon tape ,,,,,,,,,,,that tape is pretty tough ,,,,,,it won't leak if done properly . Why not a mechanical pressure gauge ? It would be worth it to have the extra gauge mounted ,,,,,,,,,,,1st they are more reliable . 2nd the fitting is small . Good luck

You don't need fancy teflon tape. I used to personally test daily, white teflon tape to 2000 psi on a pipe fitting without one drop leaking. A pipe thread with teflon tape is one bad *****

I thought long and hard about a T fitting but after reading the guage instructions is says the temp sender must be immersed in fluid 3-6 mm. So I figured Id but the temp in the C5 stock location and work somewhere else of the oil PSI

I think the side of the pan would give a great average temp but obviously this will be more costly/time consuming.

I would love to do the side of the pan but I am going to have to have zero down time installing them. I think that fact this car is my DD has held me back a ton so far.

Hi Guys,
Im trying to get that oil bypass off my 2000 T/A but a header tube is right near one of the bolts.. question is how far do the bolts go into the block? Just so I can make sure there is enough clearance to get them out?
Stuart..

I believe it's the same bolt as the coolant crossover bolts which is 20mm long
