Default ls1 lifter bore, lifter failure

I gotta ls1 that with a lifter failure. From what I can tell, the lifter came apart and gouged the block up some. The lifter moves freely completely in and out the bore. I was thinking hone the bore and clean up the deep and gouges and run it. What yal think?

well the smooth part of the lifter never comes close to where the block is damaged.

looks like the damage is outside the bore itself. make sure there is no burrs inside and run it...

a buddy of mine had the same thing happen on his ls2 goat. a local guy here in town bored it and installed a brass/bronze sleve(cant remember which). hes since done a stroker (404) with this block and now has probably 3000 miles since build and no problems so far. iirc he charged him 300 bucks. good luck to you man, sorry to hear about this
