Default Modifying Oil Pickup and Windage tray with main studs

Just want to hear what folks are doing. Since the ARP studs make the tray and pickup sit about 1/4 inch lower, is everyone adjusting the oil pickup for this?

On the last few motors I put together. The stamped portion of the oil pickup assembly that bolts to the stud was cut and rewelded to adjust for the oil pickup's location. Otherwise, it seems the pickup will be too close to the pan when assembled.

It's a given that 3 holes on the windage tray have to be opened up a bit.

Feedback?

What I did was measured the distance from the bottom of the block to the end of the oil pickup and then measured the inside distance from the bottom to the top of the oil pan and adjusted the distance by bending the pickup tube until there was a 1/8" /space . The 1/8" along with the gasket thickness gave me almost 1/4".

I had enough room the way mine went together. Every pickup seems to be a little different -- some will smack the pan, others (like mine) had 1/4" or more ...
