Default Milling 317's

I'm looking at Milling my 317's down .030. That would give me close to stock LS1 compression. Is this a good idea? How will my Intake fitment be? I'm doing a custom cam from EPS. Getting 243's or 799's just isn't in the budget. IS .030 to much? How should it be milled? Angle milled or just straight milled? I posted on a local forum asking a good place to get heads milled and now i'm full of questions.
