Cam size ? for 243 heads milled .030
I recently ordered a TR 230/236 cam for my T/A. Since then I picked up a set of 243 heads from an 03 Z06. The heads have slight port work, a valve job and have been milled .030. I have been doing a lot of reading and am worried about PTV clearance issues. Does anybody know if this cam will fit with my heads? I do not want to flycut the pistons and will just order a custom cam if necessary.

only way to really know is to do modeling clay on top of the pistons to be certain. all i can say is i have my 243s milled the same as yours and im running a 226/230 600/600 111lsa and dont have any PTV problems but i also have a LQ4 which has dish pistons.

Ok cool. It will probably be to close for comfort. 1st degree it in, 2nd then check your ptv. You can gain clearance buy retarding the camshaft. If the cam is ground with NO advance, then that will buy you some clearance. A new valve job and thicker head gasket will also help a tad to, but aftermarket valves and 3-5* of advance ground into the cam will hurt also. Install the cam straight up, degree it in and then check your ptv. Only way to do it and do it right imo.
