Default LQ4 oil cooler gasket

This is for the stock LQ4 in my 01 Silverado. It has a stock oil cooler, which looks like it's leaking at the block that bolts to the oil pan.

Do I have to drain the oil to replace this gasket? Or will oil come pouring out no matter what I do?

Oil will come pouring out...

You could first remove the oil filter (oil comes pouring out here, but this is more manageable).

Hmm, might as well do an oil change and replace the filter while I'm down there then. Thanks.
