usually you would use a lq4 lower compression for that if your boosting it

I say run it. Nice low milage motor. I ran a 150 shot with over 100k in a heavy truck still running fine. If you want to go forged then I would sell the LQ9 and start from scratch. It would be a waste to pull apart a nice low milage motor.

i want to run it stock but just dont want no problems when i boost it in a few weeks..
it doesnt make sense to go in a damn near brand new motor

maybe i'll just do some good rod & head bolts

Since the compression of the lq9 is only about 10:1 you will be fine with about 5-7 pounds of boost...if you wanna run anymore boost than that and I would look for an lq4 since its only 9.4:1 compression. I agree it doesn't make sense to tear open a sub 15k mile motor, especially an lq9

So its no other way around running more boost on the stock lq9? Maybe a good tune & meth injection or something?
