Default LS1 block and part swap to LM7

I have searched the forums for over 2 hours and have not yet found a direct answer to this.

My intake spring (lunati) on cyl 1 broke (less than 3 mo driving) and my cylinder wall has small gouge marks on it and my LS6 head is sh** along with #1 piston . I am figuring that an LM7 block would be cheaper to buy and bore to replace my Ls1 block.

Does anyone know if all the parts to the LS1 block swap over if the LM7 was to be bored? I just built the LS1 a few months ago and know that the bearings, rings, rods, cam, heads, etc are in great shape. If they all swap over I will do that since it's cheaper to bore the block than by a new or used LS1/6 or LQ4/9.

I have read a few posts that mention something about tapping a hole for the alternator bracket, but I thought that all bolts to the head. Is there anything else that would have to be modified? I am running the LS6 valley cover and from what I see, I may have to grind part of the block to allow the tray to fit. Is that correct? Also, has anyone had any problems running a bored out LM7 as an LS1 alternative?

Thanks

heres a question

this lm7.....is it aluminum or cast iron

all ls internals are interchangable except for the pistons(of coarse)

but if a lm7 needed to be punched out to a 3.905 it can be done..............
as long as it iron block

Iron block, less than $300. And bore would be 3.898 for stock ls1 size I believe. Do you know if I would have to modify the block in any other way?

Thanks

no, but having seen machine shop prices to take a bore from 3.780 to 3.898, you will be kicking yourself for not getting another LS1 block.

you would have less money in it getting your block honed .005 over and getting stock replacement 3.903 pistons and rings.
