Default SLP double row chain and pump

I bought this setup slightly used. I got no shims for the pump. SLP says they are included, hence needed.
So, how thick are they?
Arun said no cover grinding, True?
Does spacing the pump muck with the oil pickup tube at all?
I haven't mocked it all up yet, just asking in advance.
I'll have to see if I can get the shims from SLP

Yes, you absolutely need the spacers, and I had to take a die grinder with a burr and slot my pickup tube mounting tab hole a lil bit to make it line up just right.. Not sure how thick my spacers were though, they were just aluminum pieces with the holes layed out to match the pump and block... DO not try to run the pump without those spacers. Hope this helps

Thanks guys. This may have been a mistake on my part then. Engine is in the car (C5 Corvette). I don't have access to the oil pickup mounting tab.
I was told no need for modifying the front cover as well. My bad on not doing proper research.
I have asked the seller to explain.

I have a set of unused shims sitting out in my shop. My SLP double roller / oil pump setup didnt need the shims. It even states on the installation kit no shims are needed. The attached sheet came with the kit.

Thank you very much! Just saved me a bunch of money and greif!
How did the pump work for you? Which spring did you use?

I used the higher pressure spring and have had no oil issues. I also run the bigger K&N oil filter with a full 6 quarts. When my block was out i did a lot of cleanup work on the oil galleys, so that it will flow around the motor and return to the pan better.

Since I have the Vette pan, it already holds 6 quarts. I believe I'll run the std spring.
so in essence, this is a HV pump, the springs just set the pressure, correct?

As for the shims, I compared this to a stock pump, and the mount bosses are taller. So the shim is essentially built in.

I also spoke to Arun about the fittment with the pickup in the vette pan. It fits fine, don't need to mess with the pickup mount at all.

I'm good to go.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Ron
