Default Oil pump, big cam questions

I just put my motor together with new cam and lifters and a stock oil pump, yesterday I was running the car pretty hard shiftin around 68/6900 and it started tickin pretty bad but cleared itself up within a min or so,

Does this sound like maybe the lifters aren't getting enough oil to stayed pumped up at high rpms, pressure is at 45 or so driving at 2k goes higher as I rev it up??

Cam is in the 620 range

do you have stock valve springs? did you have oil pressure during the ticking?

What Yup of springs are you running, and are they shimmed and have the right on seat/ compressed pressures and clearance?

If your springs are too weak, or are losing control st high rpms you could be getting valve float.
I take it you have a good tune and aren't running too lean in the higher rpms? It could be knock too.

I'm running a 255/263 .624/.624 115lsa cam with shimmed dual valve springs and a melling high volume, high pressure pump holds at the lowest 45psi, then max 75psi at 8,000 rpms

Did you check your oil to make sure the level is correct? At those kinda RPM's a 1/2 quart low could cause issues.
