I'm getting closer to pulling the trigger on heads and a cam for my 04 GTO. I think I am going to go with the 2.5 5.3 heads but I'm not sure what cam to go with. I would like to be in the 400 to 450 RWHP range. I have seen some 2.5 5.3's paired with the MS3 cam. I like the set up on this GTO. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTJiMljyyXI . He is running the MS3 but not sure what LSA he went with. Probably going to go with this kit here. http://www.texas-speed.com/p-1159-pr...m-package.aspx . Just wondering what cams others are running with these 5.3 heads and also what else will need done when doing the head and cam swap. Timing chain? What push rod length? ext. Any advice would be great.

i am running those heads and i ran my with a much smaller cam then the MS3 and made 440/400 to the wheels. my cam was a 227/235 the dyno was being stupid the day i went there and only read the pull to just under 6000 on the sheet, so i have more to come. the heads are pretty good. i was originally gonna go with just cam only, but did not feel like changing out the valve springs, so i just threw some heads on it! i got the better PTV with the sunk valves and some really good springs. if you do go with these heads then get the upgraded springs the EHT springs. they are nice and quiet and have great street strip characteristics

also if you are gonna go with that kit, i would get the TSP oil pump with it, it is a piece of art!

I'm actually thinking the torquer V2 is the cam for me. I think the MS3 is just a little big for me. Really like the way this car sounds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFlQipz2fB8 . He went with the 2.5 LS6 heads instead of the 5.3s. Sounds perfect to me. Still not sure on the LSA of that cam though. 112?
