Default Head choice opinions for 408

Hey guys, starting to build backup/ replacement motor for the nova. Try to decide on a new head choice for the 408. What would everybody's choice be? Just wondering if I should stay with catherdral port heads, or switch to
ls3's? Heard a lot of good things about ls3's and the cost is nice! Otherwise probably some aftermarket cathedral ports. Thanks again!

Depends on how much you want to pay.

Aftermarket, I would go with some AFR V2 230cc. A cheaper alternative would be some ported LS3s.

AFR 230s / TFS 235s / PRC 237 - one of those would be my choice for NA

AFR 245s/ TFS 245s / Mast - for boosted cars - IMO

I had really good results with my WCCH Stage 2 L92's and Richard is awesome to deal with. With a stock L76 intake on them, I put down 516HP/486TQ. I see you are a fellow cheesehead, so if you are close to me, I would be glad to let you hear it or whatnot...

i was looking at these as well for my future 408 build. but i have decided that i will be going with AFR 230 or TFS 235 so i dont have to replace my FAST intake or my Yella Terra roller rockers

I chose stock LS3s for my build. A grand for brand new heads and an intake/rails/injectors is hard to beat. It allows me to put my limited funds into other critical areas and still wind up with a great performer.

If you don't already have a cathedral port intake then go with the LS3 style heads. If you already have a cathedral port top end then go with some TFS 235's or AFR 230's. PRC 237 is also a nice head.
