Default AFR UPDATE (Now Accepting Deposits!)

Hello....

Just wanted to inform everyone that AFR is now taking deposits on our 205's.
We have finally given our foundry the "green light" to proceed with our first production run of castings. It will be a smaller run of around 300 pieces, so be advised we expect to allocate it very quickly. It will be handled on a first come, first served basis. If you are already on our "Pre-Order List", you will be contacted by an AFR Rep and will be part of the first allocation.

WE WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTING DEPOSITS ON 205's WITH THE 66 CC CHAMBER.
(or smaller)

NO DEPOSITS WILL BE TAKEN ON 225's UNTIL WE FINISH DEVELOPING AND PROVING OUT THE PROGRAM.

The larger chamber versions of the 205's won't be ready for 4-8 weeks, unfortunately, and the initial release of the 225's might take almost as long.
I would rather surprise everyone and announce we are taking deposits earlier than we expected than tell everyone 3 weeks and start disappointing people if it requires more time.

We expect to be shipping the better part of our first 205 allocation the end of April and early May. Our next production run from the foundry will be in much greater quantity, so any of you that order early who happen to miss this first run will certainly be taken care of with the next wave of castings.

So as not to confuse anyone, if you had wanted a 205 with smaller than a 66 cc chamber, we can provide that for you by simply milling the cylinder head for the lower chamber volume and additional compression.

Feel free to call AFR and speak with any of our sales techs if you have questions. Thanks again for all your patience and please understand we are working full steam ahead to be able to offer you all of the other LS products we have spoken about in as timely a matter as possible.

EDIT by jmX: Please call your favorite AFR vendor from the banner on the right about placing an order.

Thank you,
The AFR Team

Tony,
I've watched you pimp the impending release of your LS-1 heads since late last year on this forum and other forums and am now going to say something publicly. I don't see your company's ad banner on this site>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Perhaps you should consider dropping a check in the mail to PSJ for all the hype you've recieved so far. I can't remember ANY company being so public on this forum without being a supporting vendor.
Now do the right thing and join the group.

Peace,

Richard

Yeah and what kind of results did you get from these heads??? RWHP no flywheel BS. I'm not putting any $$$$ down on anything until I hear of about some great hp gains from these heads.

Shadow, it was explained why they used fwhp instead of rwhp , It really doesn't matter if its rwhp or fwhp, its the net gains from the baseline to the improved numbers.

There are supporting vendors on this forum that sell AFR heads. TByrne and

TEA just to name a few. The purchases should be done through them.

I have no problem with ANY vendor who abides by the policy of this forum. I gladly welcome those vendors to promote the products they wish to sell. I may do business with some of these vendors myself. If AFR is allowed to advertise freely, why shouldn't I?

Man, I completely missed the fact that AFR didn't have a banner here.
I'll have to stress that point when I order my heads tomorrow.

You guys crack me up...

Biting the hand that feeds you is so wrong...

If GM was to start 'pimping' parts on this board, you
wouldn't be slamming them.

It's all about vendor support...

It's awesome that the 'makers' come on this board to
support their vendors...

Vendors always have better prices than the 'maker' anyway...
It's how the supply chain works...

Good for us, & good for them....

Dave

It's great to see the product is out congradulations AFR & Tony. Looking forward to leanring more about the product when its out in the customers hands. I think the 225 will really be something special.

I think based on the board rules it's ok for AFR to advertise their product if AFR directs the purchasing/order/pre-order thru a site sponsor(s) like TEA, Thunder, Rageing, Tbryne etc otherwise AFR should become a sponsor if they want to sell the product direct to the membership.

PM sent. I spoke to Tony Mamo at SEMA this past year and he said AFR would become a sponsor on the site once the heads were nearing actual production. Looks like we are close

How much does it cost to become a sponsor anyway? I sell Amsoil & rebuild carbs (not that anyone here uses carbs- but they do Amsoil).

Also- BHP is a MUCH better metric to judge parts by. Drivelines & chassis dyno's just have too many variables in them for a truly accurate comparison.

Cool

This is not about just pimping heads. I'm not even sure those heads will come close to outperforming my Cartek 2X heads. He refuses to answer the question about whether or not they will outpeform the ones I have.
I suspect they will not. I would love to have more power, but at this point, don't think its happening.
