Default TSP LQ4/408 Rotating Assembly

Hi, have a few questions. I just ordered a 408 rotating assembly from tsp and am having it balanced by them. The rotating assembly has a callies compstar crank, eagle rods, wiseco pistons and ARP 2000 rod bolts. When putting the rotating assembly together do i need to resize these new rods for the ARP bolts?? Also, am i going to need to notch the inside of the block to clear the heads of the rod bolts?

Thanks

No sir, the Callies compstar rods already have the ARP 2000 bolts in them, and were sized accordingly by Callies. You will not need to do any extra work to the rotating assembly, aside from file fitting your rings, before install. Your block will require a full run of machine work!

Thanks for the info Matt, the block has already been bored .030" and honed. I know i need to shim the windage tray or notch it for the bottom of rod bolts, but wasn't sure on the side of the engine block. I still need to follow ARP's rod bolt installation guide, correct? Oh, and by the way I got eagle rods, are they ok as well for not needing to resize? i ordered a callies compstar crank.

Yes, the rods will have a sheet of paper in with them on bolt torque and stretch values.

you honed the block without having the pistons there? Usually a shop will want to measure the pistons for each bore and then do the final hone

All the aftermarket rods are sized with the bolts they come with. The only time you typically see the need for resizing would be changing rod bolts on your stock rods or if you change bolts on an aftermarket rod.

i bought the block from someone local and he already the machine work done on it. he was originally going to make it a 370, which is the same size piston as a 408. i have the receipt for everything that was done to the block.
