Default Use my existing cam in a 408 stroker motor?

I had a custom cam ground for my Ls6 motor, and now in the process of building a 408 stroker kit.

Will my existing cam work with the motor, at least temporarily?

Cam Spec's are

226/230 .598”/.600” 111LSA +4 advance
the motor will have 243 heads, and a carb Performer intake manifold, just FYI

Thoughts?

Yes it will, but bigger cube motors eat up cam duration, so it will act like a smaller cam. I ran the cam out of my ls1 for several months till I went bigger. With the cam you have now your 408 will have VERY good streetable manners.

Anything will work, it's not like the 408 is a completely different engine...just more cubes.

Now it won't make the same power as another cam specd for the 408, but it will surely run and drive. Like Makr mentioned, it will drive very well because it's technically a baby cam for the engine you have.
