Default stock oil pump questions

Im getting ready to do a cam swap on my car, since it only has 35,000mi on it I was wanting to keep my stock oil pump, but was wanting to port it and put a shim in the spring to get some more pressure. doe anyone have a thread or a write up on how to dissamble the pump to make those mods or have any suggestions.

There is a few online, just google it...I would also think of adding rod bolts..the rods are very strong with the addition of bolts such as k-techs..that way you can feel more confident to spin the motor past 6500 if cam wants it

Ill have to check into rod bolts but I still don't know If I would spin It past 6500rpm that seems exessive to me, but I may just be a sissy.

Taking the pump apart is so easy, you don't need a tutorial. Remove the bolts holding the cover on, then pull out the gears. Just make sure you put the gears back with the same orientation as they come out... Don't flip them.
The allen bolt on the bottom comes out to remove the spring and plunger. Use blue loctite on that retainer when you reinstall. Do a search and you'll find plenty of info on porting, but once you open it you'll see exactly what to port anyway.

How thick of a shim for the spring? To say add 10psi pressure.
Any rule of thumb?

Why do you want to raise your pressure?

Use a 2.70mm shim...I think you can get it from any motor cycle shop...its the shim I use for every pump I port/shim..
