Default EGR and AIR removal??

Is it necessary to do away with this since I don't have any cats? I was reading a forum that said after they did away with this the car ran BETTER.

Any thoughts guys?

I would. It's dead weight. You'll need to have the codes tuned out to avoid the check engine light.

Yeah it'll clean-up the engine compartment, and drop 3lbs (EGR), and another 6lbs with the whole air pump assembly.
Don't forget you'll need block-off plates for the EGR and Air-tubes.

People mainly just do it so the engine bay looks better, no real benefits other than that. If you don't have emissions testing out where you live then they don't serve you any purpose. EGR is the only thing that needs to be tuned out, the other components can literally just be yanked out without any extra drama.

Not to hijack the thread but do you have to take any fuse out after taking the AIR OFF???
I read that it would make a weird (sound/noise) if its not taken off???

What makes noise is the AIR pump.. Some people don't take it out completly but I would at least unplug the connector to it so that it's not oumpin air into nothing.. There's a little panel under your bumper.. The pumps right above it

Might as well take out the fuse since no amperage is being drawn. Doesn't really matter either way.

Air pump and egr are worthless but they set those irritating CELs if you don't tune them out....also if you disconnect air pump make sure you remove the pump itself which is in behind the driver side headlight, might as well get some weight savings too lol

I thought you got a tiny hp increase from removing the EGR since it recirculates hot exhaust back into the system to keep unused gas fumes from being released???
