The ones I got were the "blue tarp" (named because of the setting in which they were photographed) longtubes and Y-pipe about 4 years ago. A forum member started selling an improved version a bit later under the name LPP headers. I actually bought a Y-pipe from him last year. I think LPP went out of business recently. If you can find a set of LPP used, snag em'. They are good.
The original ebay or blue tarp headers had fitment issues with the driver side collector angled up to much. I would stay away from those.

It kind of depends on what the emissions standards are where you live...if all they do is plug into your OBDII port, you just need to have the rear o2's tuned out so you don't throw codes. I'm putting some used pacesetter headers on mine that I got in the parts classifieds pretty cheap. Took a wire brush to them to clean them up, then coated them in some silica ceramic header spray from the local auto parts store, and then wrapped them in header wrap. Then, I'll be tuning out the rear o2's and taking it to emissions.
More information in the FAQ's here, and a lot more in the stickies over in Generation III External Engine.

I put Hooker L/Ts on my 02 Firehawk. While I've heard worse stories, I would definitely stay away from these. They are black painted but the car has never seen snow or rain and they started rusting badly after 3 months on the car. Also the fitment was poor; I had to grind material off the driver's side k-member to keep the pipes from contacting it which made a nasty grinding sound. After everything was said and done the sound and performance is awesome but not after a huge headache. If I were to do it again, I would recommend one of the higher end brands. If you can't afford it, wait until you can because it's really not worth the headache. And whatever you do, go stainless steel. I wish I had.. they look better and you shouldn't ever have to replace them once they're on the car. Good luck, feel free to PM me if you have any questions about the install.

Got a couple here, first is what they looked like when they showed up. Second is after we brushed them clean, spraying them with VHT header silica ceramic coating. Third is once they're all wrapped up in DEI header wrap and sprayed with silicone seal. Fourth and fifth are installed. My buddy and I took nearly three hours to install them, it was my very first time installing headers, and his first time installing them on an LS motor in an f-body (he mostly did big block chevys a good couple years back with his dad).
