Default just installed a 224 cam......

what are your initial thoughts on this cam? how do you like the idle, do you think it pulls hard? louder valve train? should have gone bigger?

I got the Tr 224/112 cam and I wished it chopped a little more when I first started it up. Took the plate outta the Borla and that helped a little. Definately made the car faster. I'm pretty happy with it. If I could do it over I'd get a 230 though.

I love my tr224. The streetability is absoluty great. The cam makes great power for what is considered a small cam to todays standards. I have decided to keep my cam and add a set of AS 5.3 heads. Should be the same great drivable car with more grunt.

Mine is on a 114lsa. I like it that way because people think I either don't have a cam, or its very small Their eyes get huge and the questions start to fly when I pulled 390 rwhp and still had the stock slp cme. So it was VERY quiet.

I just did a TR224/114 lsa a few weeks ago. I haven't got it tuned yet, but it makes good power by SOTP. It does sound a bit like I have a few sewing machines under the hood sometimes. It is very driveable and doesn't die too much without a tune (I'm getting one soon). I put the 918's, titanium ret., hardened push rods, double roller chain, and LS6 oil pump in with it for extra insurance. It will pass emissions too, if they sniff. I'm more worried about the visual inspection now, with the after market exhaust. I don't think I can get away with anyone not knowing that I have a cam right now. Maybe the tune will smooth things out.
