Default What heads do I want?

I am trying to build power on a budget. I dont plan on going to forced induction or spraying this motor but for now I want to plan on doing it all on a stock short block. From there I was wondering what heads would be best for my application the 5.3 or 6.0 heads that I would plan on some heavy porting to get them to flow to where I want them. I do plan on putting a decent size cam in it at the same time but want to start putting the peices together on a budget. Let me know what you think. Is higher compression the answer? if so which head is best for me?

On a budget, get a set of GM 243 heads and send them to AI for CNC work.

When I hear budget head my brain screams Advanced Induction. Their heads perform great, every time.

Agreed. Even if a set of AI 243's is out of your budget, they can make a set of stock ls1 or 5.3 heads scream as well.
