Default Alternator and battery good but won't charge

I have a problem child salvaged 2004 z06.

Alternator, starter, underdrive crank put on last year.

Car was overcharging when went full throttle so had the regulator on alt changed. Since then car will not charge. I charge battery and can drive 20 miles and then dead. Took alternator back and tested and it was good.

Any suggestions? Did I burn something out when it was overcharging?

Thanks for help

Check the exciter wire. The connector has a tendency to wear out and wires break. Eps after a few plug and un plugs.

Do you have power to the exciter wire and to the big wire on the back?

Figured out. Alternator harness pigtail is not getting a good connection. Press down on it and voltage goes up. Easy splice new pig tail and good to go.
