I just got done talking to a junkyard guy and he said that you cant put aluminum heads on a 6.0 with iron heads because the the way they bolted up was different, different head gasket, head bolts etc. is he full of **** or does he know what he is talking about. I know the crank spacer is different in these year engines so Im thinking he knows what he is talking about... anybody done this and know one way or another?

I have done this before, the 317 head is the twin to the iron head except for it being aluminum. My only disappointment was that I couldn't feel any power increase which proves that they are identical.

Yes they are interchangable and flow numbers are very similar. The biggest thing you will do is loose 50-75 lbs off the front of the car.

Yes, will bolt on. I used one of the iron head, thicker crank flange 6.0 for a build long time ago. But i bolted on 243 heads. Any ls heads will bolt on like any other ls
