Default Another cam spec'ing post!

So Pat spec'd out a cam for my C5Z and things have slightly changed since then. I now posess livernois stage 3 243's 62cc chambers, no more nitrous and I want it to have a manly idle lol I want this thing to sound mean! I still want to retain the same power band of the current cam. Rev limiter set at 6800-6900... And it needs to be drive able down low and stay punchy in the mid range...

You could tighten up the LSA to make it idle harder. But the size of the cam still fits your desired RPM range.

Your current cam should still work really good, but I'd have to agree with just going with a tighter LSA (111 or 110), and maybe even dropping down to a 230 on the exhaust lobes.

I agree with all of that. Just wanting opinions on the LSA and the exhaust side. Intake is staying at 230

Was kinda trying to get out of another $25 spec'ing fee is all lol

I am sure that will work. Or, even 111+1. Run it by Patrick. I bet he will discuss it with you at no extra charge.

If it was me I would use the same cam. I doubt he will make much change in the specs , may 112 LSA. I bet there isn't much if any difference on exhaust flow between the 2 heads. Probably intake flow and higher in the lift range than your cam will be. Like th eother guy said, he may adjust them for you at no charge. I would at least contact him and see.

I guess all I'm wanting is a max effort 230 cam that idles hard. I dont want to leave anything on the table by going with a street friendly LSA...

i'd get the same cam on a 111+2 or so. i'd like to see the results of a 231/238 111+3 though LSL/LXL because i plan to change to that cam within the next couple months

I would tighten the LSA and exhaust if you're not going to run nitrous. I'd run that 230 EPS lobe on the intake with a 111LSA on a 109 intake centerline. For the exhaust, I'd run a 230 LXL lobe if you wanted better power and street manners in the 1500-3500 rpm range or a 234 lobe if you valued power above 6500 rpm more. For what it's worth, the 230/230 111LSA cam has the same 8 degrees of overlap as the 230/238 113LSA cam.
