Default How long have you had you dual valve springs in for??

I always hear people saying you need to swap out dual valve springs around a certain amount of miles, but its always a different amount. I dont think there is a solid answer for this question. So, how do you know when?

I have a ms3 cam with 7.425 pushrods and patriot performance gold .650 lift springs. They have been in my car for a little over 30k now and thats including 12 nitrous bottles in the last year between a 100 shot-150. The car still runs the same as the day they were installed.

whats your guys experience?

Depends on the dual springs. The new prc .650 springs are saposed to go a long time without being changed, but I believe the dual patriot golds are not as good. Most will tell you to pull a couple and test them to make sure they are still in spec. I think those are saposed to be changed every 50k to be safe.

There isn't any set rule, you should have the springs checked for pressure. FWIW I haven't seen associated last much past 15k-20k miles with setups similar to yours without needing a spring change.

On a side note did you measure pushrod length? I'm surprised your setup needs such a long pushrod.

well Im well over 10k over the limit then LOL

and I had a professional shop install my cam/valvetrain/oil pump. I bought those push rods (cause he said they would work) and when he did the install he spec'd them and I cant argue with how my car runs.

yea from what I have seen the patriot dual golds arent a very good spring compared to what they have now. If it was me I would put in some prc .650 springs and call it a day. Like said above the golds need to be changed within like 20k with that big of a cam and the prc's are saposed to be good to 50k++

Springs should be checked every 15,000 or so depending on the lobes. Getting 50,000 is pretty lucky imo

I have one of these and check mine when they are new. Write that number down, and then check them as you fell necessary. These are one of the best on head spring checkers that I have ever owned.

Im running a MS3 with PRC dual, Had them in for 3 years now and about 12k miles, ran probably 30 bottles of nitrous through the car on a 200 shot shifting at 6,800 rpms.

Im running Manley Nextek dual springs with my ms3 cam. I usually check them after a year. I change them around 18-24 months to be safe but I drive the car a lot.
