Default I need some advice...

I'm looking to put a mild cam in my daily driver, would it be better to leave the stock 317 heads on or should i go ahead and get a new set of heads along with a cam? If so what are some good heads that i can get at a reasonable price?

First depends on how much money you want to spend. Set goals, what are you trying to accomplish with the car? Is it an ET? A horsepower number? Then someone might be able to better help you.

I'm putting L92 heads on a LS2 to put in my '99 Camaro I daily. The 'big' L92/LS3 heads make good power with small cams. But then you'd need an LS3/L76 intake, injectors, rails, and cable driven throttle body.

well...
of course the 243/799 ls6 heads
even stock non touched will outflow the 317s
plus your getting a big bump in compression too

may have to watch the compression with those if your running that lq9
usually i read around 11.3-5 is the most ive seen guys running on the street
with pump gas

hell...... but thats just my opinion on it
im running an lq9 also

Get some ported ls6 heads to go along with that cam and you will be over 400 that's probably a given if the cam is decent size
