I guess I will bite first on this one, those are top shelf heads. A lot of people are going to tell you go with "blah blah cam" I will say that the Z06 cam is a great GM piece that was designed for a beast of a car. You have to take into account that the cam was still specd for parts reliablity, wear and tear, mpgs, emissions etc. It has alot of external forces at play. Depending on where you live you can give up say emissions and mpgs for more performance. I am not going to say there are better cams out there because that all depends on what your goals are, but you can do good research to see what other cams will net you as well.

Reason why i don't wanna put a big cam is cuz i want it to be idleing all crazy u know... its my dd i go everywhere on it... and a big cam attracts Alot of attention from cops and i don't want that.. Am a big fan of afr head that's why am going with them.. unless there's a bigger cam that idles like stock then ill look into that.. u guys know of any cam that can do that??

Have a talk with Tony, let him know what you're after and he will get you set up. Tony spec'd me out a cam, ported my fast 102, and set me up with some sweet AFR215s. Just be honest and realistic about what you are after. He is a great guy to work with. I'd post up some numbers from my build but I still have a few things to get worked out before I can get on the dyno.

tony's the way! Another great guy is pat g who has spec'd thousands of cam for people on this site and far beyond. At the same time i am a believer in the ls6 cam. There is a guy on this form whos cam only running 10's with an ls6 cam. the cam doe make good power and i feel like it would love the afr heads. Talk to one of these guys and they will be able to give you exactly what u want but make sure you know what other mods you will be doing before you talk to them. they will want to know everything to get the cam correctly fit for you.

Here, read this:

4. How does increasing or decreasing duration affect my engine performance?
Duration has a tremendous amount of affect on engine behavior -most notably, the rpm at which its peak torque is produced. Shorter duration camshafts (or “mild” cams) produce more low rpm torque, while camshafts with larger duration (or “bigger” cams) will tend to increase upper rpm horsepower at the expense of low rpm torque. In general, for every 10° increase in duration, the torque peak of the engine moves up by 500 rpm.
