what arp head bolts and what pn head gaskets gathering parts for putting some 243 heads on my 98 z28 with tr230 cam. Do I get head bolts for the 98 block...what pn? If i understand i get head gaskets based off the 243s right? what would that part number be for mls head gaskets? what would my cr be with mls gaskets and stock 243 and what would my cr be if i went with .040 cometic gaskets? thanks yall-Brandon

Head studs would be the set for the older style blocks with the four shorter studs. Not sure of the part number. The head gasket would be sized for the bore, not the head. Compression ratio calculator here: http://www.csgnetwork.com/compcalc.html

thank you.... i also called 2 different sponsors on here to see what they would say and was told that the mls gaskets3.910 bore would give me 10.5-1 cr and the .040 cometics would give me 10.85-1 cr. that being said i was told i would only see about 4-5hp from the thinner gasket and they are a little over $100 more. i dont plan on replacing heads very often so i believe i will go with the mls gaskets.
as for the headbolts i was told get them based off the block which would be the ones for 97-o3 ls1s
