Default cam differences

Recently, I posted a thread about a cam I purchased on a whim and got a lot of great answers but also new question that really needs a new thread.

I have the chance to swap my original cam for one a little smaller but since I am cam spec reading illiterate will someone please tell me the difference between these two cams and how they will perform. Goal is 400 RWHP and a stuck in traffic driver with a MN6 trans. Both are from Comp

Cam A. 228/228 .571.556 111 LSA
Cam B .232/240 .580/.580 113 LSA

I know there are a lot of people here who can just look at a cam spec and give a good estimate on how it will perform so hopefully one will chime in.

Thanks

One has more duration on the intake and exhaust and more lift. It will also produce more power at higher RPMs.

that is the cam i was planning on going with but i ran into these for less than half of what the 228R is running. guy bought the 232/240 one and decided he wanted to go forced induction so he changed it out after 5K miles

The big question though is, which one will be more drivable?

Generally, a cam w/ a larger Lobe Separation Angle will idle smoother and have better manners in traffic conditions. I ran a TR224 on 112deg LSA for years in stop 'n go traffic with no complaints, just as a data point.

really, even though the bigger cam has more overlap, the wider LSA will be easier to drive? thats cool. Going on a C5 LS1 that is getting LS6 intake, AI heads, and long tubes. I guess I will keep Cam B and pass on Cam A.
