We just did a 383 ci short block by Schwanke with about 11.2 to 1 with Advanced Induction's best 243's with a similar cam (bit more duration).
Eagle crank, rods....Mahle pistons
stock rockers with the comp trunion upgrade, LS7 lifters
crane push rods
barnes single stage scavenge pump, with stock type pressure pump
Moroso dry sump pan
ATI dampner

It has a Holley 750 carb on a GMPP 4bbl intake similar to the Edelbrock victor Jr

This was for road racing, It made: 570 @ 6800 HP flywheel
477 @ 5600 torque

Max power would probably have been about 7200 but the MSD box was set at 6800. Will re-work that

I'm not too sure about pushrods made in Bend.....Oregon!
Sounds like a good combo to me.
Who is your machinest?

BTW, I am in Portland. You going to race at PIR or Woodburn?

Thanks Yeah we are going for 480+rwhp and i know its possible if everything is perfect i guess we will see!
i have a machinest that sets up everything exactly the way i want and we have a great relationship his name is Craig Bloom from Eastco Machine out of Gresham, I race at Woodburn and PIR, We have a Blown Alky 67 GTO we use to run every weeekend so i am always out there tuning or driving
Smith Bros makes some of the Nicest Push rods out there! they supply Top Fuel ect and i have never broken one Ever and I've Snapped other Big Name push rods, Plus i love keeping things local!

I have been racing at PIR/Woodburn since 1975. I know the GTO. And I have met Craig.
small world.

Good luck with the 383. I think 480 at the wheels is shooting low.
I will be using Smith Bros as well.

Not really, it's truly a bit high IMO if we are talking dynojet SAE numbers on a 'real' dyno (calibrated w/ proper weather station setup). Through an automatic with a 'small' cam duration after all. Not to discredit the build, just trying to bring in some of my experience and another view point. Look forward to the results & I think it will have a solid power curve with great torque, sounds like a well thought out and solid build.
