Default Should I replace my oil pickup tube?

I'm in the middle of swapping a newer motor into my car which has 225k+ on the old motor. Should I replace the pick up tube or will I be alright using the existing one.

As long as it seals, I would retain it.
A little sanding and some paint will make it look like new.

After you remove it, if there's any crud in there (and, there could be), spray some engine degreaser in it and ream it with a coat hanger that has some cotton, or soft material on the end.

I can understand cleaning it, but may I ask, why would you paint an oil pick up tube?

I agree...the paint will flake off and plug the filter up.

Fwiw, i just took my oil pan, windage tray and pick up tube to the machine shop and they charged me 5 bucks to throw it in the hot tank for a half hour. Everything looks brand new.
