The 228R is generally what we recommend for an application such as yours with goals such as yours.

Compared to tbe 228r yes. I was debating the 228r tq v2 and v3. Ended up going with the 228r and i really enjoyed it.
The 228r is much better suited for a street car and easier to tune as well and wont sacrafice low end for a minimal top end gain. All 3 cams for me wouldve been within about 10hp of each other.

Anything under .600 lift & 230 duration is considered a small cam but its on the higher end of being small. More like a medium cam. If your mostly driving on the street the 228 really rips, cam has a nice wide powerband. After a few years you may want something bigger but who doesnt? I have been running a 228 for 3 yrs now, still happy with it but I have gears & a great set of heads too.

If your thinking you should go bigger now before you order I'd definitely do it. I actually wish I would have went with something in the high 230's now, but no way I'm doing all that again. I may upgrade in a few years but for now I'm going to enjoy my build for awhile.
I shift at ~6500rpm's, but it still hasn't dropped yet off so you could probably take it to 7k if your brave or have the internals to spin the motor that high.
