Common reliability upgrades.
I see a lot of post about LS2 timing chains and upgraded rod bolts, LS2 oilumps, chain damper etc.
How many of these upgrades made their way into the truck engines as stock pieces and by what year?

The LS2 chain and gears (chain is a little wider) made it into all LS based gen 4 engines by 2005 I believe and the same with the 2nd gen conn rods . As far as the LS6 oil pump is concerned I have no idea but if You Google what You need to know it's usually there . For instance "2005 chevy 5.3L has ls6 oil pump" and You'll have a million hits to read .

i always upgrade to a self ported, shimmed stock oil pump.
upgraded pushrods and springs on high mile motors. ls2 or double roller timing chains. and i use engine oil coolers using the stock 6.0 hd truck oil cooler lines and block.
im always hunting for em on ebay or classifieds or jy. excellent upgrade. and very easy to adapt to just about any ls vehicle.
