Default New Oil Pump Screwed Up? (PICS)

I ordered a GMPERFORMANCE oil pump from Scoggin-Dickey last week. When it came in the outlet to the engine looks like this.... If I am not mistaken there is no gasket in between the pump and block right? So my question is should I use this or send it back?

I would send it back.....lighter scratches can be wetsanded out. In fact I true up the surfaces of the pumps that I port all the time but the more common imperfections/scratches I see are less significant than the pump you received (you place the whole pump on a medium length bodyman's long-board or other flat surface and use W/D 40 as a cutting lubricant).

I would get a different pump if I were you....I'm sure they will take care of it if you send them a quick note and a picture of the pump.

junk

It is a must that surface be about perfect.

I buy pumps that have that surface cut for a o-ring to be sure there is no leak there
