Default Engine build.... advice.... and info...

hey to the forum i am new to ls1tech. my name is chris. i have a 99 z28 t56. 204k on the clock. spun rod bearing.

ok engine rebuild:

New factory ls1 crank
complete rebuild lower end all factory (the numbers i want i have been reading stock bottom end is all i need for now) Wink Wink the old lady might have had a hand in that. with a factory bottomend i can tell her i rebuild it to stock. wink wink.

Heads factory casting 806
64cc chamber
287 cfm flow on intake @.600 lift
208 cfm flow on exhaust @.600 lift
polished valves and comp cam hardened push rods 7.400

for now a LS1 GM Hot cam
Hot Cam specs 219/228@.50 .525/.525 lift 112 LSA

here lays my question

isky roller lifters
0 offset and intake and exhaust they are 3.040 tall

with the lifters do i need a shorter push rod or would this just make the cam better or worse. i have searched about the lifters length and cant find anything solid on what way to go.. it might be a dumb question but i also cant find what a factory lifters length is. when i get home this weekend i will mic a factory one and see but hoping to get a answer sooner. thanks to everyone in advance

Chris

I would definitely get a better cam, the Hot cam is a good cam but there is a load of better ones out there for a decent price. As for everything else I would just bay attention to the bearing clearances cause you really don't want to go any more than .002 on the ls1's. I have always preferred to check my pushrod length before installing any that way I am 100% sure on the length and lifter preload. Other than that it sounds like you have a good build going.

The cam. What would be best for good power and dd. I'm looking to spend 300 or under. I'll buy used if any member has one they want to sell.
