Default LS6 Crossover tube

I just recieved my crossover tube and noticed its "O" ring'd. Does that mean I dont need that oval type O-ring gasket I have seen for sale?

I had gaskets from my gasket kit so I put them on, mine was oringed also. I dont believe you actually need the gasket, just what it comes with but I am not totally sure.
