Default 2004 LQ9 Oil Pump. Port or replace?

doing my swap into my 99 TA and want to do all I can think of while the motor is out... so far:

Katech rod bolts (require no machining)
LS7 chain
Cam/spings (undecided, waiting for an affordable package deal, im a cheap ***..)

Now, the oil pump... motor has 53k ish miles... should I just port the pump or replace with new one and port it as well... I know the early LS motors had shitty pumps but what about this one... from a 2004 or 2005 Escalade.... Info, opinions?

It's fine; they're gear pumps...port it & use it. If you end up scrapping it, I'll take it & find a use for it.

Planning on doing the same thing for a cam upgrade and turbo. What spring should I get? Is there a part # for it?

TIA
